Ingredients:

  • 2 cup. sugar
  • 1 cup. buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup. butter
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, buttermilk, butter, syrup and soda in large saucepan.
  2. Place over medium heat. Stir just until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Let come to boil and cook to soft ball stage or to 230 degrees.
  4. Remove from heat; beat 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add walnuts and vanilla.
  6. Pour into buttered pan; cool slightly and cut into squares.
