Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4-1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 400.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Sift all the dry ingredients together.
  4. Add the shortening to the dry ingredients mixing until combined.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  6. Add the buttermilk and stir until combined.
  7. Roll out and cut out with biscuit cutters as many biscuits as possible.
  8. Brush tops with heavy cream and bake 13-15 minutes.
