Boiled Molasses Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 cups flour (about)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Boil molasses over low heat for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add sugar and butter.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add rest of the wet ingredients and mix well.
  7. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  8. Roll into ball: place on a greased cookie sheet.
  9. Press with a fork and sprinkle with sugar.
  10. Bake for about 10 minutes.
