Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
  3. Cream butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time.
  5. Sift flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture.
  6. Mixing well, fold in mashed bananas, vanilla and nuts.
  7. Pour into loaf pan.
  8. Top with a sprinkling of granulated sugar.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
