Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Mix dry ingredients and sift twice.
  2. Work in the shortening with a pastry blender or two knives.
  3. Add the liquid gradually, mixing to a soft dough.
  4. You may need to add an extra tablespoon of milk if too dry.
  5. Toss on floured board, pat to one-half inch in thickness.
  6. Cut out with a glass or biscuit cutter.
  7. Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
