Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in shortening.
  3. Add just enough milk to make the mixture moist, you probably won't use the full 1/2 cup.
  4. Knead lightly until smooth. Don't over do it. If you do, you will have a hard flat biscut instead of one that is light and fluffy.
  5. Press dough flat to 1/2 inch. Cut into 2 inch circles.
  6. Place biscuits shoulder to shoulder on ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 425 for 8-10 minutes.
