Ingredients:

  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. If your electric skillet does not have a rack equip with one.
  2. Scald 2-1/2 cups milk in top of a double boiler.
  3. In a large bowl slightly beat eggs then add sugar, salt, vanilla and remaining milk and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Quickly and stirring rapidly add to scalded milk then pour immediately into 6 custard cups that have been warmed by rinsing in hot water.
  5. Sprinkle with nutmeg then place cups on rack in skillet and pour 3 cups hot water and 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar around them.
  6. Cover skillet and set control at 400 and bake 18 minutes.
