Apple Yogurt Tart

Ingredients:

  • apple fillilng
  • 2 -3 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup walnut pieces (optional) - i would probably use pecans, but that's because i love pecans
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 9 inch pie crust

Directions:

  1. To start, make sure pie crust is ready to place filling in.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apple slices with butter, sugar, flour cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  3. Spoon into pastry lined pie plate
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until edge of crust is lightly browned.
  5. Remove from oven and set aside while preparing yogurt topping.
  6. In a medium bowl combine yogurt, egg, sugar, flour vanilla extract and salt, beating with wire wisk until blended.
  7. Pour evenly over hot apple tart.
  8. Arrange walnuts over top.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees additional 10 minutes.
  10. Cool completely before serving.
