Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cups unpared diced apples
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp white sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, sugar, eggs & oil into a large bowl.
  2. Combine baking soda, vanilla & salt and proceed to add to the flour mixture. Pour in millk, then mix in apples & nuts.
  3. Pour into non stick loaf pan (should make 2-3 loaves) and bake at 350 degrees for 45 or until knife inserted into the middle comes out clean.
  4. Remove bread from loaf pans & place back on the oven rack for 5 more minutes. Take the bread from the oven & finish cooling on racks.
  5. Before the bread is completely cooled mix together butter, cinnamon & sugar and spread on top of bread.
  6. Cool before cutting.
