Apple Sour Cream Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups finely chopped tart apples (granny smith are the best for this)
  • 3/4 cup sugar , to taste
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2-1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup flour

Directions:

  1. Set oven to 450 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar and 2 Tbsp flour; add in the sour cream, egg, vanilla and salt, beat until smooth.
  3. Fold in the chopped apples; mix thoroughly.
  4. Pour into pie crust.
  5. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes; reduce the temperature to 325, and bake for 30 minutes more; remove from the oven.
  6. In a small bowl, combine 1/3 cup sugar, cinnamon, 1/3 cup flour and butter; mix thoroughly.
  7. Sprinkle the mixture over the pie filling.
  8. Return to oven; bake 20 more at 325 degrees.
  9. Remove; let cool.
