Prize Winning Apple Sour Cream Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

  • double crust pastry for 9 or 10 inch pie
  • 7 to 8 large pie apples
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • a bit of sugar and cinnamon to taste

Directions:

  1. Into a bottom pastry lined 10 inch pie pan place sliced and peeled apples.
  2. Mix together, vanilla, sour cream, sugar, flour and combine well.
  3. Pour over apples evenly.
  4. Mix together pecans, sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over sour cream mixture.
  5. Place on top crust, crimp edges to seal and vent pie in several places.
  6. Bake in a 375F oven about one hour or apples tender.
  7. Cool to room temperature.
  8. Serve room temp or well chilled.
  9. Ice cream goes great with this pie
