Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then get out two bowls. In the smaller bowl, place the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix the dry items together and put that bowl aside for a moment.
  2. Get the larger bowl. In this bowl, put the skim milk, applesauce, and egg whites together, then mix.
  3. Mix the two together, then once mixed, add the sugar free syrup. Chop the apples into very small pieces then add them, too.
  4. Once the apples and syrup are mixed in, you'll have the batter for the muffins. It will be considerably thick. Scoop the batter into muffin cups, dividing the batter evenly among twelve cups. Put in the oven then bake until a toothpick comes out of the muffins clean. They might be a little small, too. It should be around twenty or thirty minutes, I don't have a precise time. I'd start with fifteen and keep adding time until the muffins are cooked well.
  5. You can eat them fresh, but whether you do or not, but them in a ziplock bag to keep the moisture.
