Amish Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 1/2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream margarine, oil, and sugars. Add eggs (1 at a time), beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture.
  2. Chill dough for 2 hours. Roll dough into small balls and flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Variation: Roll bolls in sugar, sugar & cinnamon, or colored, decorative sugar before baking.
