Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter or shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. In large bowl, with mixer, cream butter or shortening, and sugar
  2. Add applesauce, mix well
  3. In another bowl, sift flour, soda, spices together
  4. Add raisins to sifted flour mixture, covering raisins well
  5. Add flour, raisin mixture to applesauce mixture
  6. Combine and mix without beating
  7. Pour into well greased loaf pan
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes
