Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together shortening and peanut butter; add sugar and cream until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend in corn syrup; add egg and vanilla and beat until light.
  4. Blend in sifted dry ingredients, mixing well.
  5. Shape dough into small balls; place on greased baking sheets and flatten with tines of a fork.
  6. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
