Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl beat shortening, peanut butter, sugar and well beaten egg. Beat thoroughly.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and wet ingredients. Chill.
  4. Form into 1 inch balls and place on lightly greased and floured baking sheet. Flatten with a fork dipped in flour to create a criss-cross pattern.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
