Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of white rice ( i use milagrosa it comes in a white bag and it has a rooster on the bag, it smells great and taste even better) or any rice that has the word jasmin on it
  • sal to taste
  • butter or oil

Directions:

  1. Place the 2 cups of rice in a collander (one with small holes)
  2. Wash until water comes out clear
  3. Pour into pan
  4. Fill with water until it reaches about one inch ontop of the rice
  5. Add salt to taste and stir well
  6. Add 3 tsp of butter or you may prefer to add oil (butter gives it a buttery flavour)
  7. Cover and cook in high heat until it starts to boil, at that point you stir it and lower to low heat and cover.
  8. DO NOT OPEN THE LID just let it cook for 15 minutes, then open the lid and you can see if it's done
  9. The rice should look fluffy if it looks hard then just cover and check every 5 minutes until it looks done.
  10. Once done turn off the heat,
  11. And uncover the pot, you do not want it to keep cooking
  12. You may stir it and add a bit of oil or extra butter
  13. Serve and enjoy!!!!
