Vanilla Bean Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla beam, split and seeds scraped
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • filling and frosting as desired such as marscarpone and berries or a rich chocolate frosting

Directions:

  1. Sift dry ingredients except sugar
  2. Cream butter and sugar
  3. Blend in vanilla seeds
  4. Add eggs one at a time
  5. Alternating add dry ingrdients with milk
  6. Blend well but do not over beat
  7. Divide batter into two greased and floured round 8 inch cake pans
  8. Bake in a preheated 350F oven until done about 40 minutes
  9. Cool on rack, remove and fill and frost as desired
