Substitute for Expensive Aged Balsamic Vinegar

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar (an inexpensive supermarket brand)
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp port wine

Directions:

  1. Combine in a small pot. Simmer gently for 30 minutes, until reduced by half. Cool to room temperature before using.
