Spicy Sausage Rolls With Pizza Sauce

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F
  2. Separate each can of dough into 10 biscuit.
  3. Place 5 biscuits on edge and lightly press together.
  4. Shape ends to form a loaf.
  5. Repeat with remaining biscuits to form four rolls.
  6. Dip rolls in melted butter.
  7. Then in cheese.
  8. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake for 17 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly.
  11. While rolls are baking, place sausage and water in a 10-inch frying pan.
  12. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes.
  13. Uncover.
  14. Drain and fry sausage 4 to 5 minutes or until browned.
  15. Slice rolls in half lengthwise.
  16. Spread with softened butter.
  17. Place 1 piece of sausage on each roll.
  18. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  19. Add pepper and onion and cook until tender. Add pizza sauce.
  20. Heat to boiling.
  21. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the sauce on each roll.
  22. Serve warm.
