Spiced Apples in Heavy Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cloves

Directions:

  1. Add sugar, vinegar and spices together in a 2 quart pan and bring to a slow boil.
  2. Add apples, cooking until tender.
  3. Remove apples to a non-metal container.
  4. Boil down the syrup until about 1/3 the original volume.
  5. Pour syrup over apples.
