Solar Cooked Hawaiian Kalua Pork

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Season the pork shoulder with sea salt.
  2. Rub liquid smoke on the pork.
  3. Place banana peel on top of the pork. (banana peel replaces banana leaves for flavor).
  4. Transfer pork to solar cooking pot and place in solar cooker.
  5. Solar cook until it is completely cooked (about 4 hours).
  6. When pork is done, pull apart/shred.
  7. Serve with rice, stir-fried cabbage, and macaroni salad.
