Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 stick shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine 1 1/2 cups of sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla in a large
  3. Bowl. beat at medium speed until well blended.
  4. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. add gradually to shortening mixture at low speed. mix until just blended.
  5. Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. shape dough into 1-inch balls. roll in sugar mixture. place 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake 7-8 minutes, dip again in sugar mixture until well coated. let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
