  1. Chop bacon into 1” chunks and fry then when grease coats pan add sliced onion.
  2. Cook until transparent then add oatmeal to absorb fat keeping the mixture thick.
  3. Stir 10 minutes until cooked.
  4. Serve with mincemeat roasted poultry, or as a main dish when the larder is bare.
