Ingredients:

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup walnuts or 1/2 cup cherries or 1/2 cup currants , etc
  • milk , as needed
  • hot oil (fill wok 1/3 of the way up)

Directions:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. Add the liquids and mix.
  3. Add a little milk to make it moist.
  4. Add raisins (or nuts etc).
  5. Mix.
  6. Drop by teaspoonsful into hot oil.
  7. Cook until brown.
  8. Drain.
