Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a 9-inch square baking pan, combine flour, 3/4 cup of the sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. Blend in butter and 1/4 cup of the cocoa powder.
  3. Add to dry ingredients along with the milk and vanilla.
  4. Mix well with fork.
  5. Combine remaining 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and nuts.
  6. Sprinkle over batter.
  7. Carefully pour hot water over all.
  8. Do not stir.
  9. Bake in a preheated 350 degrees oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
  10. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
