Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp soft butter
  • 1 egg
  • about 1 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Combine 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water; cook until dissolved and set aside.
  2. Mix together flour, baking powder, 1 Tablespoon sugar, salt, and butter.
  3. Beat egg and put in measuring cup, fill with milk to equal 1 level cup, then mix with above dry ingredients.
  4. Roll out like pie dough.
  5. Spread with apples and sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, and a little nutmeg.
  6. Roll up like jelly roll and score about 1 inch all the way across.
  7. Place in oblong pan. Pour sugar water mixture over and bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
