Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Butter a baking dish, 7-inches in diameter and about 2-inches deep.
  2. Put the milk, cream, 1/3 cup sugar, and the salt in a heavy bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil and slowly stir in the cream of wheat. Stir constantly over medium heat until the mixture has thickened. Remove from the heat and blend a little of the hot milk mixture into the eggs, stirring constantly. Add the eggs to the milk mixture and beat until well blended. Stir in the almond extract, almonds, and raisins.
  3. Mix the whole wheat bread crumbs with the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle the crumbs generously over the bottom and sides of the buttered baking dish. Spoon in the mixture. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes. Invert the cake onto a serving plate and serve hot in wedges with cream.
