Quick Oatmeal Chewy Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 2 tbsp cocoa

Directions:

  1. Prehaet oven to 350.
  2. Combine 1/2 cup butter, sugar, syrup, eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
  3. Add one cup peanut butter and mix.
  4. Stir in flour, oats and salt.
  5. Spread in a 13 x 9 pan.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. In saucepan combine 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup water and heat to boiling.
  8. Remove from heat and add 1/4 cup peanut butter and cocoa and mix.
  9. Beat in powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Pour over bars and spread evenly.
  11. Cool and cut into squares.
