Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 - 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 package 1/4 oz active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp paprika

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a saucepan heat milk, water, and shortening until warm not a rolling boil about 120 dergees
  3. Add milk mixture to dry mixture beat until moistened. add egg and beat on medium speed for 3 minutes. stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  4. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic about 6-8 minutes. do not let rise.
  5. Divide into 12 pieces and shape each piece into a roll.
  6. Combine paprika and gralic powder. dip each roll into melted butter then top with paprika mixture.
  7. Place 6 buns down in a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. sprinkle with remaining butter and paprika mixture. then top with remaining buns and more butter and paprika mixture.
  8. Cover and then rise for about 45 minutes in a warm place or until it's double in size.
  9. Bake at 375 for 30-35 mintues
  10. Remove from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack
