Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar , firmly packed
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a cookie sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream shortening and butter, add sugar; cream well.
  5. Add eggs; beat well.
  6. Add flour mixture; mix well.
  7. Fold in pecans.
  8. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
