Ingredients:

  • crust
  • 1 1/2 cup. flaked coconut
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • topping
  • 1/2 cup. butter(softened )
  • 1/2 cup. sugar
  • 1/4 cup. brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup. ( 6-oz package) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cup. chopped pecans
  • 1 cup. ( 8 -oz package) candied fruits and peels

Directions:

  1. In bottom of 9- inch square pan
  2. Combine & mix together well:
  3. Coconut, melted butter, 2 T. sugar, & graham cracker crumbs
  4. Spead evenly in bottom of pan (pat down lightly)
  5. For topping: In large mixing bowl combine:
  6. Butter,sugar,brown sugar,egg,vanilla,milk,flour,baking soda & salt
  7. Blend well with mixer
  8. Stir in chocolate pieces & pecans
  9. Spread over crust
  10. Top with fruit
  11. Bake: 350 degrees
  12. Cool:
  13. Cut into bars
