Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 2/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 3/4 cup chocolate malt powder (such as ovaltine)
  • 1 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 3/4 cup heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, cocoa and boiling water; whisk until smooth.
  2. Add malted milk powder/Ovaltine and stir until blended.
  3. Mix in milk and cream and let mixture cool.
  4. Pour into ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions until texture is that of ice cream.
  5. (Place in freezer in airtight container for 30 minutes if firmer ice cream is desired)
