Ingredients:

  • 1 cup. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup. raisins
  • 1 cup. nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup. sour milk

Directions:

  1. Grind whole orange, nuts and raisins together, set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, add egg.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
  4. Stir baking soda into sour milk.
  5. Add alternately dry ingredients and milk.
  6. Beat well.
  7. Add ground orange, nuts and raisins.
  8. Stir in.
  9. Bake in a tube pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  10. Grease and flour pan.

  12. Orange Glaze:
  13. 1/2 c. orange juice
  14. 1/2 c. sugar
  15. Combine ingredients, pour over hot cake.
  16. Serve with whipped cream.
