Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 3 tbsp lard, melted
  • 1 cup flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400F and grease a 11 x 7 baking pan.
  2. Beat eggs, milk, and lard together.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  4. Pour into prepared pan and bake about 30 minutes or until bread tests done.
