Old Fashioned Deep Dish Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • pastry dough (your favorite recipe ) for a double crust 9 inch pie.
  • 10 to 12 medium size tart cooking apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions:

  1. For 10 to 12 Servings Prepare your Favorite Recipe for a Double Crust 9 Inch Pie. Line the Bottom & Sides of a 13x9x2 pan with the
  2. Pastry.
  3. Peel & Core 10 to 12 Medium size Tart Cooking Apples.
  4. Cut into 1/4 Inch Slices and Spread Evenly over Pastry.
  5. Combine 1/2 cup of Brown Sugar, & Granulated Sugar, 1 Cup
  6. Sifted Flour, 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon, & 1/2 teaspoon of Salt
  7. Work in 1/2 Cup Butter until Mixture is Crumbly.
  8. Sprinkle Mixture over Apples. Bake 25 Minutes 425 degrees,
  9. Reduce Heat to 350 degrees; Bake 20 Minutes Longer, or until
  10. Apples are Tender. Serve with Ice Cream
