Oat Butter Bars

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar , firmly packed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter - any brand will do
  • 2 eggs

Directions:

  1. Cream butter with sugars.
  2. Mix in peanut butter.
  3. Blend in eggs.
  4. Stir together dry ingredients and beat into creamed ingredients.
  5. Press into pan and bake at 350° F for 15-20 minutes.
  6. You can use two 9 x 13 pans or one cookie sheet.
  7. Melt 3 cups chocolate chips for icing or use 2 cups chocolate chips and 2/3 cup peanut butter.
  8. Makes LOTS
