Mom's Oatmeal Drop Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Mix together brown sugar, shortening, and oats. Mix well. Add egg, vanilla and milk.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix thoroughly in shortening mixture.
  3. Drop by teaspoon onto parchment-lined baking sheet, Flatten with the bottom of a lightly floured glass to 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes.
