Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 5 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. Cream together shortenig, sugar and vanilla.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together and add with milk to creamed mixture.
  3. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inces apart.
  4. Gently spread and flatten a little.
  5. Bake 400 for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Remove from cookie sheet immediately and cool.
  7. Put together with the filling.
  8. For Filling: Beat together until fluffy.
  9. If too thick add a few drops of milk.
