Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (may require more add to appropriate texture and taste)

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, pumpkin and vanilla. Stir to blend. Add dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on to cookies sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
  2. Frosting:.
  3. Combine brown sugar, butter, milk and vanilla in a sauce pan. Bring to a rolling boil. Stir well. Chill in refrigerator for 30 to 60 minutes. Add powdered sugar and frost.
