Ingredients:

  • 5 cups hot water , from tap (not boiling)
  • 3/4 cup honey or 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 3 tbsp yeast
  • 12 -13 cups flour (more or less , don'tsp measure)
  • 2 tbsp salt (sometimes can kill the yeast so add it with the flour)
  • 2 tbsp gluten
  • 1/3 cup powdered milk (optional)
  • 1 egg (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix water, sugar, oil and yeast in Bosch. (With old fashioned yeast, let the yeast bubble before continuing, but no need to do with with instant yeast.)
  2. Add milk and egg.
  3. Turn mixer on low and add flour, salt, gluten and dough enhancer. Mom never measures the flour, she just add to the right consistency. Dough needs to be slightly sticky and the sides start to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
  4. After all ingredients have been added, beat on low with the Bosch for 10 minuets.
  5. Take out dough, roll into loves, put into pans and let rise.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Makes 4-5 loaves.
