Ingredients:

  • crust
  • 45 ml sugar (3 heaped tbsp)
  • 3 eggs
  • 45 ml butter or margarine (3 heaped tbsp)
  • 112 ml cake flour (3/4 cup)
  • 3,5 ml salt (3/4 tsp)
  • 15 ml baking powder (1 tbsp heaped)
  • filling
  • 1,2 litre milk
  • 20 ml butter or margarine (2 tbsp)
  • 6 eggs
  • 1,2 ml salt (1/4 tsp)
  • 250 ml sugar (1 cup)
  • 25 ml cake flour ( 2 tbsp)
  • 25 ml maizena (2 tbsp)
  • 30 ml custard powder (2 tbsp + 1 tsp)
  • 5 ml vanilla essence (1 tsp)

Directions:

  1. Crust:
  2. Whisk sugar, eggs and butter together.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together.
  4. Mix everything together.
  5. Spoon the dough in a 1,5 litre greased pie dish.
  6. Bake by 220 degrees C (420 degrees F).
  7. Filling:
  8. 1. Boil milk, butter together.
  9. 2. Whisk the eggs, sugar and salt together and stir in with milk.
  10. 3. Sift dry ingredients together.
  11. 4. Remove from stove and stirr dry ingredients gradually in.
  12. Return to lower heat and keep on stirring till thick and creamy.
  13. Remove from heat.
  14. Stirr in vanilla.
  15. Pour over crust.
  16. Sprinkle cinnamon over tart.
  17. Put in fridge until totally cooled down.
  18. Yummy!!
