Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda in milk
  • 2 cups broken pecan pieces

Directions:

  1. Mix sugar, buttermilk, butter, salt and baking soda together in a large pan.
  2. Cook on medium heat to a SOFT boil stage. check by dropping a small amount of the praline mixture into cold water. it should form a small ball.
  3. Remove from heat and add pecans and vanilla.
  4. Beat until it looses its glaze with a wire whip - approx 5-6 min. mixture should now look milky .
  5. Turn out on wax paper and allow to cool. Yummy!
