Ingredients:

  1. Melt the butter in the saucepan and stir in the flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly until blended. Take care not to let burn.
  2. Gradually add the milk and cream and stir until thickened and smooth (3-5 minutes).
  3. Add the pepper, chicken, lemon juice, zest, and salt (to taste). Simmer until heated through (about 5 minutes).
  4. Ladle over toast, top with parsley, and serve immediately.
