Lemon Lime Refrigerator Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 package. lime gelatin (4 serving size)
  • topping
  • 1 env. whipped topping mix (2 to 2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 package. lemon instant pudding mix (4 serving size)
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk

Directions:

  1. Dissolve gelatin in 3/4 cup boiling water. Add 1/2 cup cold water;
  2. Set aside at room temperature.
  3. Mix and bake cake as directed on box in a 9 x 13 pan. Cool cake for 20 to 25 minutes. Poke deep holes through top of warm cake with meat fork or toothpick or wooden spoon; space holes about 1-inch apart. With a cup, pour slowly the gelatin mixture into the holes.
  4. Refrigerate cake while preparing topping.
  5. To make topping, in a chilled deep bowl, blend the whip topping mix,
  6. Instant pudding and cold milk until stiff, about 3 to 8 minutes.
  7. Immediately frost cake. Cake must be refrigerated. Can be frozen.
  8. For an alternate topping, mix the pudding and cold milk together and
  9. Add 2 to 2 1/2 cups Cool Whip and gently stir together. Frost cake.
