Kimmy's Clam Chowder

Ingredients:

  • 10 lbs potatoes
  • 1 gallon half-and-half
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 (15 oz) cans clams
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Sauté chopped onion and celery in butter.
  2. Peel and chop potatoes.
  3. Boil potatoes in water until tender; drain.
  4. Add cream, half and half, onions and celery to potatoes.
  5. Sauté drained clams in the remaining butter and garlic. Add salt to taste.
  6. Add clams to boiling pot. Bring boil to a simmer.
  7. Add seasoning to flavor.
  8. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
