Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tsp orange zest
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk

Directions:

  1. In a bowl (or food processor) combine first 4 ingredients and cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Stir in orange peel and 1 1/2 cup pecans.
  3. In a small bowl, mix liquid ingredients, and stir into flour mixture just until blended.
  4. Turn into greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan and sprinkle pecans over top.
  5. Bake about an hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
  7. Turn onto rack and cool.
