Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded coconut - process in food processor to get the fine kind that is sold at indian grocers
  • dash salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk

Directions:

  1. Melt butter and then add flour, nuts, coconut, salt and cardomom.
  2. Blend in the sugar.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Cool for a few minutes.
  5. Then combine milk and almond extract stirring constantly over medium heat.
  6. Stir until mixture is thick and takes on a glossy apperance about 10 minutes or so
  7. This dessert can be served hot or cold.
  8. When cold, it can be unmolded from the pan and cut into squares.
  9. Serve with whipped cream and fresh fruit like strawberries or mangoes , is optional
