Ingredients:

  • 2 boxes of yellow cake mix
  • or
  • double batch yellow cake mix from scratch
  • butter or shortening to grease cake mold
  • flour for dusting cake mold

Directions:

  1. Create your cake mold (13 x 4.5 x 4) inches (see photo). Wrap cardboard mold inside and outside with THREE layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil to form the twinkie shape.
  2. Use any boxed yellow cake mix or yellow cake recipe from scratch.
  3. Pour the mixed batter into the heavily greased and flour-dusted mold.
  4. Bake according to directions on the box.
  5. When cooled, it should come easily out of the mold.
  6. You can invert everything onto a big plate.
  7. Let cake cool completely.
  8. Pick three spots on the bottom of the Twinkies cake to inject the whipping cream (you may have to probe a bit with the tip to enlarge the cavity where the filling goes).
  9. Don't overfill with the whipped cream.
  10. Turn it back over again so that the exposed baked top is on top.
  11. Serve and smile!
