Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, cook bacon until almost crisp.
  2. Add onion and cook until soft.
  3. Add potatoes and water; cover and simmer until tender (about 10 minutes).
  4. In a medium saucepan, melt butter; blend in flour, and gradually add milk stirring until thick and smooth.
  5. Add thickened flour, ham, corn, salt, and pepper to large pot.
  6. Bring almost to a boil (don't boil!).
  7. Add milk if chowder is too thick.
  8. Serve warm.
